Main idea and background
World Heritage education is crucial for the sustainable protection of World Heritage and the achievement of UNESCO's 2030 Sustainable Development Education Goals. This side event will showcase the activities of the UNESCO Asia Pacific World Heritage Training and Research Centre (WHITR-AP) in the fields of education, heritage, and development. These activities aim to respond to the UNESCO and China's heritage education and communication strategies, and promote international discussions on culture and education.
Since our center held its first side event at the 44th World Heritage Conference in 2021, by integrating professional knowledge and resources from various regions, gathering people from all walks of life in the field of heritage education, sharing and exchanging innovative ideas, the forum has become a vibrant global platform for innovation in world heritage education. We are committed to establishing a World Heritage Education Innovation Network that integrates heritage education, cutting-edge technologies, and innovative solutions. We hope to strengthen heritage education to support a sustainable future through dialogue and cooperation, integrate diverse forces, and safeguard our common cultural and natural heritage for future generations.
